We are now in our new location in the Marchwood shopping Center.  On Sat, Oct. 2nd we had almost 300 guests at our open house event.  Thanks to all who came out.

On Sunday, June 13th we had 5 cyclists attend this years annual Irontour charity event.  Riders road between 10 and 35 miles. 
 
On Sunday June 6th we had 3 new Black Belts receive their belts at an exciting ceremony.  Congratulations to Gossen Yang, Brandon Madonna, and Marc Unger, III.

We had 15 attend the 2.5 mile run on Saturday, Dec. 12th despite the frigid temperatures.  Great job everyone.  We're expecting an even larger turnout for the run on Dec. 19th!!

This month the RSKA will have it's first 4 students testing for Black Belts.  They have all trained a minimum of 4 years in Tang Soo Do. 
 
2/28/09     Mr. Unger was inducted into the USA MARTIAL ARTS HALL OF FAME. 
He was named the Multi-Discipline Martial Artist of the Year.  It was a great honor and a wonderful ceremony in New York City with some of Amerca's greatest martial artists in attendance.

Marc Unger attended an RGDA "Brazillian Jiu Jitsu" Academy Head Instructor meeting in Lebanon, NJ.  Representatives were present from around the world and some great information was shared to make our BJJ program all the better.  Several instructors were promoted by Royler Gracie to the coveted Black Belt in BJJ.

May 31st:
Marc Unger Sr. and Jr. attended a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar with Royler Gracie at Impact MMA in East Greenville.  We picked up some great new techniques.
 
May 17th:
Karate Demo at BC Elementary School huge success.  We had 20 students participate in a demonstration at a Downingtown school fair on Saturday the 17th.  We had a mix of Little Ninjas, Beginners, Interemediate and Advanced students.  All did a fantastic job-way to go!

 
May 10th:
WOMAA Spring Games Karate Tournament, Delaware.  Congratulations to all 7 competitors who made the treck into South Delaware and had the bravery to put it on the line and compete.  The Academy made a very good showing at our first visit to the WOMAA tournmanent series.  Awards were given to top 4 place finishers:

We're expecting to have at least 15 participants in the Mommy's Light 5K charity race coming up on April 26th-thanks for all the support for this great cause!

Our Dojo doors have been open 6 months now!  We've exprienced a tremendous amount of growth since our inception.  Thanks to all of our loyal patrons! 
 
The Academy logo has won the "American Corporate Identity Award". 
Thanks to my graphic artist and good family friend, Vicki Maloney.  The logo will be published in a book in November, 08'.

Jan. 18th:

Jan. 10th:
RSKA is officially a sponsor of the Lionville YMCA swim team.

Dec. 9th:
Delaware County Children's Martial Arts Championships.

Upcoming tournament announced.  RSKA will have a tournament team of at least 10 students attending competition in December.  OPEN tournament practices announced.
 
Nov. 20th:
Saturday morning classes announced.  Starting on Saturday, December 1st we will offer Saturday morning classes.  See our Schedule for more details.
 
October, 2007
 
Oct. 7th:    
Eight  Rising Sun students competed in a Karate tournament on Sunday.  Each competitor earned a trophy for finishing in the top three in his/her respective divisions.  13 trophies were won in total of which 4 were for 1st place honors.  Congratulations to all competitors, you earned it.
 
Oct. 12th: 
Open house a huge success.  Thanks to all who attended our open house Friday night.  Over 150 persons visited throughout the night.  It was an honor having so many show up to see the new Academy.  
 
Oct. 15th:
Grand opening, classes began, great turnout!  Thanks for all the support.
